Promising Flautist
Young V. Vivek gave a flute recital on December 10 in the "Every Wednesday cultural Evening programme". He is the disciple of H.S. Venugopal and has been guided by T.N. Shashi Kumar and Neyveli R. Santhana Gopalan, also. He has passed the senior examination and bagged prizes in a few competitions.
He chose Mohana, the melodious raga, for elaboration and added swara for the composition Sadapalaya. Saveri and Reetigowla were also presented neatly. It was simple but melodious, sans gimmicks. Vivek has a bright future in the years to come. A.V. Satyanarayana on violin and K.U. Jayachandra on Mridanga gave him lively support.
